A Range of Heritage & Garden Tours

Brookland Travel
Established 1999

Brookland Travel is one of the few tour operators specialising  in UK Heritage and Garden Holidays.  Since 1999 we have been organising short breaks and cultural holidays in the UK for the domestic and inbound travel market, individuals, groups and organisations.   We also design bespoke tours to some European destinations for groups and organisations. We are not a coach company and all coaching is contracted out to our preferred suppliers.

It's your holiday and travel should be an enjoyable and interesting experience.  It is imporant to us and to you that the amount of time spent travelling by coach is minimal and comfortable.  That visits and tours are not rushed or enforced and that suitable refreshment and comfort stops are included where appropriate.  The location and choice of hotel is so important.  What do we offer?

  • History tours
  • Art appreciation
  • Garden tours, flower shows, famous and private gardens
  • Stately homes and country houses
  • Castle tours, battlefields and fortifications
  • Churches and Abbeys
  • Industrial Heritage
  • UK Cities and Amazing Architecture
  • Maritime and Maritime Heritage
  • Archaeology
  • UK Islands - The Isles of Scilly, Isle of Man and Isle of Wight
  • Highlands and Islands of Scotland
  • Southern Ireland and Northern Ireland
  • Literary Tours – Jane Austen, Victorian women writers, Thomas Hardy etc
  • Theatrical and musical appreciation
  • Dorset’s Jurassic Coastline
  • Exclusive hotel breaks

All of our tours are bespoke/tailor made and therefore the list of past tours is too extensive to mention here!

For the more independent individual travellers wishing to join one of our own tours, you can travel independently to the hotel which is the base for the tour. The benefit of this is the opportunity to travel in your own time and perhaps extend your holiday beyond the tour dates.  Some tours  commence from central London and other designated areas.

  • Our tours and hotel breaks prices usually include:
  • 3* or 4* hotel accommodation with full English breakfast
  • Three course dinners with coffee (unless otherwise stated)
  • Welcome receptions and introductory talks/lecturers where appropriate
  • Professional tour leaders and where appropriate guest lectures and specialist tour leaders
  • Touring quality coaching, with air conditioning and toilet where appropriate*
  • The inclusion of all entry fees and excursions as per the itinerary
  • Tickets and transport charges where appropriate

There are no hidden extras except coffee stops and lunches, if not stated on the tour documentation, travel insurance and tips and gratuities. (At your discretion)

"Just a short note to say how much I enjoyed the Thenford visit. Every garden was completely different and I would like to say how much I enjoyed finishing up a Broughton Castle, the icing on the cake. The hotel was a delight and Duncan was first rate, attentive but also so knowledgeable

Miss D S , Southampton

"What a great success the holiday has been. Everyone seemed happy with their paperwork and the communications. The hotel was great and the staff were helpful. The coach was excellent, a new vehicle with good air con and the driver Geoff was superb. Julian was an excellent guide and pitched his guiding and preambles absolutely right. Now for next year - we would love you to be on board again if you would like to be and most of the people on the trip were anxious to know where and when we are going!
