A Range of Heritage & Garden Tours

Brookland Travel
Established 1999

Tour England with Tours Through Time and discover English castles, historic abbeys, battlefields and monuments with castle tours, talks and walks. Special interest cultural holidays, castle tours, and heritage breaks in the UK and Europe from Brookland Travel.  Many include English Heritage and National Trust properties although private and lesser known properties are often tour highlights.

Most of these popular tours are led by Julian Humphrys, who read history at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. Julian has also enjoyed a career in museums and he talks regularly about history on TV and radio.  He is a regular contributor to BBC History Magazine and also the author of English Heritage’s Battlefield Hikes and “A Clash of Arms: Twelve British Battles”. His book “Enemies at the Gates” takes an entertaining look at English castles under siege and tells the stories from both the attackers and the besieged.

These historical, cultural and castle tours are operated by Brookland Travel who have enjoyed a long association with English Heritage and other cultural organisations including National Trust Groups, Decorative and Fine Art Societies (NADFAS), U3A, Probus, RHS Pershore College (Warwickshire) and many other associations.
